This weekend was supposed to be spent in my hometown in south Arkansas for my class reunion, but that got rescheduled (more on that in a later post). Because my original plans got canceled, I pretty much flew by the seat of my pants for the weekend.
Friday, I got off work an hour early. When 3PM hit, I went to the bank for some cash and then headed to the liquor store for supplies. Once I got back, I played the waiting game. I was waiting on a friend to finish up what he was doing before heading over to a party. The party was great.
Saturday was pretty much a recovery day. There was a possibility that I would go tailgating with a group from the party the night before, but nothing ever came to fruition. After doing a bit of grocery shopping, I came home to settle in for the night. I watched Vanity Fair and The New Twenty. I'm not sure I would recommend Vanity Fair, but The New Twenty was good.
Sunday was a pretty lazy day for the most part. The morning was spent watching some TV. In the afternoon, a friend came over and we installed a new stereo in my truck. I'm gonna really like the new stereo. It has an SD card slot, USB, and an auxiliary jack so that I can hook my iPhone into it. After getting the stereo installed and adjusted to the sub and amp that I have installed in my truck, the two of us headed out to Wal-Mart for a few necessary items. I took some food down to his house when returned from the store. Supper consisted of shredded BBQ chicken sandwiches, cole slaw, and french fries. We watched the movie Circuit and the TV show Glee. Thank goodness for Netflix and Hulu.
Today was also part of my weekend. I watched TV for the most part of the day. I also loaded up a SD card with music for my new stereo. This afternoon, a friend and I went to eat and then went to the theater. We saw (500) Days of Summer. It was a really good movie. The casting decision was a little iffy to me as Zooey Deshanel and Joseph Gordon-Levitt didn't really seem right. Maybe it's because I still see Levitt as the young kid from 3rd Rock From the Sun and 10 Things I Hate About You. Zooey Deshanel is pretty lifeless on screen. After the movie, I went back over to my friend's apartment to watch has his socially inept dog was trying to get used to a new kitten as a companion. That was some funny stuff.
I hope you all had a good Labor Day weekend.
